Greetings!
Who is Night-Lens? An amateur photographer in the Midwest who enjoys just about every area of photography that she's tried her hand at, although her favorites so far are astro-photography in particular and nature photography in general. Both are more contemplative and relaxing than, say, sports photography.
The one type she really doesn't enjoy is taking pictures of people, particularly when posed: photography is just not as much fun when her subject can talk back. :)
Someday, she'd love to do this sort of thing as a side job to being a professional handbell ringer, but for now, she's reasonably content to hold on to her hard-earned math degree and to work for a software company.
This is an 'alt' account for 'real' art, but it is unlinked to her more social account (and to her atrocious attempts at drawing).
And ne'er shall the twain meet. So don't even ask.

Regaining inspiration

There are periods in everyone's life when inspiration runs dry and art becomes difficult. I'm happy to say that it seems after nearly eight months my photographic muse is coming back. Perhaps it's because I'm slowly settling into my new life far from friends and family. Perhaps it's just because it's springtime and photos seem to come up with the flowers.
No matter the cause, it's safe to say this account will not be dormant for too much longer. One biking trip/photoshoot has already happened this year and I plan several more in the near future. Stay tuned!

Farewells and Photos

Due to a sudden change in my job situation, I will be moving very soon and leaving my favorite place to take pictures behind. The campus of Wisconsin Lutheran College has some very nice architecture and interesting features, but moreover is a very safe place to take photos, even in the dead of night which is when I'm usually shooting. I can only hope that in my new place of residence I can find somewhere half as interesting and anywhere near as safe, since I shoot alone late at night with expensive equipment.
